AppLovin’s original market is gaming and mobile apps. MAX runs real-time auctions across all demand sources simultaneously, replacing waterfall setups and improving publisher yield. Its SDK is integrated across tens of thousands of apps, including many top mobile game publishers. For app advertisers, this means access to premium in-app inventory at scale. Campaigns on the platform have delivered a 75% increase in Revenue Per Installation.

Ecommerce expansion

In 2025, AppLovin extended Axon into ecommerce web advertising. The ecommerce ad business has already reached a $1 billion annual run rate, with clients including Wayfair, Dr. Squatch, and Ashley Furniture. AppLovin targets a total addressable market in ecommerce advertising it estimates at roughly $170 billion annually.
