Appnext is an app discovery platform that sits between the device layer and traditional in-app advertising. It powers app recommendations across 10,000+ mobile touchpoints and delivers 4 billion daily app suggestions to 300 million daily active users. Part of the Affle group, Appnext combines OEM device placements with a self-serve CPI-based advertiser platform.
OEM placements
Appnext’s recommendation engine is integrated into devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO, among several other top-10 mobile manufacturers. Placements include the home screen, the -1 screen (to the left of the main home screen), app folders, and the device’s native app store.
These are device-level moments that standard ad networks don’t reach. A user seeing a relevant app recommendation as they navigate their home screen encounters it in a different context than a banner ad inside another app – the friction is lower and the intent is more immediate.
Timeline technology
Appnext’s Timeline technology builds recommendations based on a user’s location, time of day, behavioral history, and usage patterns. The system predicts which app a user is most likely to need at a given moment, then surfaces a recommendation for it. This contextual prediction is what distinguishes Appnext from interest-based or demographic targeting.
Ad formats and platform
In-app inventory supports native ads, interstitials, video, and playable ads. The self-serve DSP runs on a CPI model: advertisers pay per install rather than per impression or click. Real-time analytics track performance across both OEM and in-app placements in one view. Appnext provides integration with the following tracking solutions: AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, Kochava, and Singular.
Who it’s for
Appnext works well for app developers who want to reach high-intent users at the device level. The OEM placement layer is particularly valuable in markets where Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO devices dominate, offering a discovery channel that runs outside the standard social and search install campaign ecosystem.
